celebi23
I was wondering if running Leopard off of my 60GB iPod Photo (with a slightly non-functional screen) will damage the HD in the long run? Or, does anyone know of cheap external Firewire HDs? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24443-booting-leopard-off-an-ipod-photo/ Share on other sites
Swad
I doubt it'd work too well on an iPod. That's a lot of HD use too. You can build a firewire HD fairly cheap from Newegg - just buy the HD and a firewire enclosure. Should be good to go. Oh, and welcome to the forum! celebi23
Thanks for the warm welcome. About Leopard, if I rarely boot into Leopard the iPod HD should be ok, right? I'm pretty much getting it only for Dashcode & maybe checking out the iChat stuff. I used to boot Virtual PC 7 with XP Pro off of the iPod's HD & it didn't seem to do much (if any) damage Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24443-booting-leopard-off-an-ipod-photo/#findComment-163606 Share on other sites
Swad
I don't know why it wouldn't work, although this is all pretty new so it's untried . If you check it out, let us know how it goes!
