Branndon
System Specs (HP a6030n) AMD Atllon 64x2 4800 (940 socket) (SSE, SSE2,SSE3) nForce 430 chipset nvidia geforce 8600 GT 512mb ram Memory is 6gb ddr2 pc 4300 HDD = 250GB SATA Drive 2 years ago almost to the day, I learned about osx86. Then I installed a few versions until Kalyway 10.5.2 stuck. Recently I got the bug to install osx86 and do it right. (last time it never worked 100%) So, here goes, I've tried the following installs over the last few days: iAtkos v7 (10.5.7) - Installs but blank black screen during boot. iAtkos s3 v2 (10.6.2) Installs, but problems during boot again, I think similiar blank screen) Kalyway (10.5.7) Had luck 2 years ago on IDE drive, no luck now) Hazard (10.6.2) Install, but errors during boot iDeneb (10.5.7) Don't remember if I even got it to install. I've tried numerous flags (-x -f -v -s maxmem=2048 cpus=1 busrate=20 arch=i386) all in different combos The errors are always different, I don't think they are all kernel panics. I really don't know if anyone can help, but I've been in a foul mood waisting so much time on this so I'm posting this out of desperation. Are there some flags I'm missing? I'm checking the proper AMD options when installing. I am attaching my system specs. Branndon
I have Hazard running in VirtualBox on my Windows 7 installation. The graphics card isn't loading so it's defaulting to 32mb of memory, therefor it's glitchy and slow, but if I can get this fixed, I may just try the virtual version for a while. Anyone have advice or ideas how to get a machine with my specs working full OSX? Anyone have advice or ideas how to get a machine with my specs working full OSX? Ok, I've lurked and been in and out of these forums for a long time. I'm not sure if offering money to get help is permitted or even works. Sorry, but I REALLY want to get this working... All the guides for AMD that I read require a working 10.5.X to install snow leopard, but from what I read, 10.5 only installs on IDE drives, and I only have SATA drives. Do you think I would make progress by offering say $40 in this forum under a new thread for someone to walk me through the installation? I would list all my specs and they could help me find kexts, drivers and get my system working? It sounds weird to me to offer someone money when all the information is there and free, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I am a web developer, and really think I want a Mac as my next computer, but I want to give it a trial run for a month or so before I make the investment. I'm also thinking I can spend up to $500 maybe to buy a new motherboard, processor, and possibly one or two other pieces of hardware which will work with my current HDD, RAM, Tower, and video card. Do you think I can get a decent quad core for this amount? Anyone have advice? Thanks. I would try iDeneb 10.5.6 for you initial install, I have installed it on a nForce board with some success. If memory serves me, you want to switch the SATA to AHCI mode in bios. iDeneb has a lot of different options for install, I would try installing a different kernel (Voodoo is it what I used for this install I believe) first, then if that doesn't work you can try vanilla with patches. nvEnabler for video, AppleNForceATA, NForcelan, SMBios (maybe) default boot loader should be ok, seatbelt.kext. Driver for your sound most likely ALC883. You might need to get your ram down to 4gb or so. I also found this guide if you want to try ipc, check down a few posts for the ipc info. Motherboard is same chipset in this post, so should work. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...php/t80935.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/243808-so-ive-tried-6-different-versions-i-need-help/#findComment-1636047 Share on other sites
Krishna21
Don't lose hope--when I first joined InsanelyMac, either all my threads got deleted or ignored..look where I am..I'm writing guides for modern motherboards like ASUS/Gigabyte Anyway, I have particular experience on nForce 630i (not 430 I know), but I hackintoshed my dad's computer which was a 430. I used the following: Kalyway 10.5.2. (AMD Kernel, 9.2 by Kabyl I believe, nForce SATA) And know this--whatever distribution you use, below 10.6.0 you will have most luck using the Voodoo Kernel. When you select Voodoo it's also that you select the Seatbelt kext to prevent any kernel panics. If you could tell us some options you used within any distributions, let me know. You can also inbox verdant on InsanelyMac--he has a vast knowledge of nForce Chipsets on OS X (Sorry if you don't like me spotlighting you like this, verdant! ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/243808-so-ive-tried-6-different-versions-i-need-help/#findComment-1636256 Share on other sites
