I am trying to install OSx86 but i can't get into the installer. when i try to boot from the dvd and hit enter after 2 seconds my screen blanks out, all keyboard-leds flash so i am guessing it reboots.

the last line i can see with "-v" is:

"loading hfs+ file [/system/library/extensions.kext] from 4230450"

are there bios-options i should be ware of ?

my hardware:

-asrock 775dual-vsta (via pt880pro)

-intel core 2 duo E6300

-ati radeon 9600XT

I'm another one having the same problem. Same motherboard with E6300 CPU. reboots before even seeing Mac logo...

if anyone ever finds a solution please post it here. :-)

Hi with the same mobo but with a different proc D805 and a different osx 10.4.7 i managed to install and run it. I still have issues (who don't ?) but it's usable !

I've write first installation step here

But even when everything failed i never stop so early in boot process. My dvd drive is a nec 3550. Do nt know if it has something to do with ..

Hope it help

I finally solved the reboot problem. You have to turn off the extended features flag in the CPU settings in the BIOS. (you're actually changing the value from the default of disabled to enabled, which means the BIOS is going to hide some of the hardcore flags of the Conroe CPU from the OS)

Once this is done the install works great.

Thanks, that turned the trick.

I've got the same problem. I first took one of my working installs from my previous Asus motherboard (P5ND2-SLI) with P4 805D which also boots flawlessy on my Dell M170 laptop and Office Dell PC. I have just upgraded my PC with a new Asus P5N32-SLI and E6600 CPU. Now all I get is instant reboot after 2 lines of the startup, exactly as the first post describes when using the USB HD install or trying to boot a fresh 10.4.7 Hotiso image I just downloaded a couple of weeks ago.

So far I've tried playing with all of the available CPU options in the Asus bios(can't see any extended features flag though) and I still get the same reboot every time....

I have been searching for a week now and still no obvious answers.

My setup:

Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe

E6600

Corsair 5400UL

7800 GTX SLI
