terramir Posted December 28, 2010 Share Posted December 28, 2010 okies I got a gigabyte HD4550 and I'll be danged if I can get that one to work all I get is a black screen (running 10.6.5) tried kext after kext package and well all I can get is a black screen, with VGA I run on a tv so only options is vga or HDMI, and well I dun have a HDMI cable nor do I know if this thing needs an adapter. if someone really knows how to make this thing work great let me know. As for the HD4670 the new Imac uses this card, so it shouldn't be a problem right? peeps please let me know what I need to do and if it's worth it to buy this card, I bid on one but I won't go any higher if peeps tell me it's too complicated Anyway please help since my gt220 died I'm stuck using a 7300gt in 32 bit mode (64 dun work with this card go figure) terramir PS: I'm running the latest version of that now dead bios project and the bootloader for modified cham for that on a gigabyte ep45T-Ud3lR anyways what I'm saying is this I would like to get vga working on the 4550 if possible and in this case I really need step by step help!!!!! For your Gigabyte HD4550, are you using DVI? If you are using DVI to DVI, I might be able to help you. I can only run this in DVI to DVI ATM. However, I've tried connecting DVI to VGA via an adapter and I can't make it to work. My HDMI cable is on its way from monoprice.com so I can't test HDMI right now. Regarding editing the plist, you don't usually edit it to make other outputs work. You usually have to try different framebuffers by compiling your own chameleon boot file. You have to edit ati.c and change your framebuffer, save it, then compile.
