kevintroy
I have a 250gb hard-drive which I've split into three as follows: Windows 7 Snow Leopard Storage I use storage for all my Music, Photos, Videos etc and I can access it via Snow Leopard but I can't physically edit any of the files, I've checked the sharing and permissions and it says "you can read only". How do I get it so that I can edit the files both on SL and Win7. Thanks for any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239890-problem-with-storage-partition-read-only/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
Snow Leopard can only read NTFS volumes by default. You need to either enable writing to NTFS volumes... http://juicybinary.com/sl-ntfs/ ...or format that partition as FAT32. However, max file size on FAT32 is 4GB. Another way is to keep your stuff shared on your home LAN. Then the file system doesn't matter. I don't know what the situation is like these days, but enabling NTFS writing has been known to cause data loss and other issues. Google, forum search and make up your own mind. Personally I keep it disabled and share my data via LAN.
