  6. Samsung Q430/Q530

I'm gonna get a new laptop cos my current one is broken and was wondering if any of these would work for hackintosh with QI/CE Support? Samsung Q430: Samsung Q530:
  7. I have installed snow leopard before on my system (Acer Aspire 5738z) and I had a problem where sometimes it would take up to 6/7 reboots for the system to load past the grey apple screen. I have a indicator for when my hard drive is running on my system and when it loads the indicator will constantly flash, but when it doesnt load the indicator doesnt go off, so im presuming its something wrong with the loader? :S has anybody experienced this problem before? it is happening now as I am trying to run the CD, it will load past the CD countdown part and then go to grey apple screen and nothing happens, it takes up to 6 restarts for it to actually start the spinning wheel :Sas far as I know it can't be a faulty download as the problem happens even after installing and just trying to boot. any help?
  8. Compaq Presario SR5129UK

Hi there, I've checked my BIOS again and the only similar thing I have is Onboard PATA/SATA Drivers which include the following: PATA Controller - Enable or Disable SATA1 Controller - Enable or Disable SATA2 Controller - Enable or Disable I've checked the Compaq website for driver updates but I see none for the BIOS when I choose windows 7, however, if I say that my OS is Windows Vista (which originally came with the computer) then I get the following BIOS update: P5LP-LE Motherboard BIOS Update Description:P5LP-LE Motherboard BIOS update corrects SATA port information displayed in BIOS setup. Im guessing this wont work because it says that I must have Vista and be logged in as administrator to install the update. Also, what version of OSX were you using? iAtkos? iDeneb? etc etc? I was looking to preferrably get Snow Leopard but if not possible then I can stick with OSX
  9. New Intel HD Drivers from Apple

So is this a step forward towards getting X4500 QE/CI Support? Hopefully someone can figure it out, i REALLY want QE/CE on my Acer Aspire 5738z.
  10. I just finished installing SL and it all worked well, sound worked perfectly. Im using a 4500M graphics card which isnt supported so I used Deviato's guide to get native resolution http://deviato.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/chameleon-2-rc4-for-intel-gma-version-2/ After following the tutorial and restarting, I got native resolution (1366x768) and sound working together, so my system now had everything I needed (except QI/CE which isnt supported). After restarting again, my sound no longer works, it doesnt show my device in the Sounds part of System Preferences and I don't know what to do, I had VoodooHDA installed when first installing SL. Can anybody help me please?
  11. I have a 250gb hard-drive which I've split into three as follows: Windows 7 Snow Leopard Storage I use storage for all my Music, Photos, Videos etc and I can access it via Snow Leopard but I can't physically edit any of the files, I've checked the sharing and permissions and it says "you can read only". How do I get it so that I can edit the files both on SL and Win7. Thanks for any help
  12. Compaq Presario SR5129UK

I have a Compaq Presario SR5129UK which I've added a NVIDIA 9500GT 1GB graphics card into in aims of installing either Leopard or Snow Leopard onto, but I have a bit of a problem... When i go into my BIOS I have no option to change to AHCI mode, which I believe is needed to run Leopard or SL? I've tried to install iDeneb and iAtkos onto my system but neither will load, I get a "stop sign" on the grey screen after a few minutes, I've also tried to install both via Virtualbox but neither work (iDeneb installs but after i unmount the CD to restart after installation, it goes to a blank grey screen and hangs) What are my options? here are my computers specs (screenshots taken from CPU-Z): Compaq Presario SR5129UK CPU Caches Mainboard Memory Graphics massive thanks to anyone who can help me!
  13. I've ALWAYS wanted to own a genuine mac and I can't really afford the price tag of them, anyway I was on eBay and I came across this: click me I was wondering, how well would this system work if I installed SL (10.6)? I would mainly be using the computer for general internet surfing and light photoshop use (making avatars and signatures, nothing too resource consuming) and listening to music/watching youtube videos. My aims are to buy it for the £250, buying some extra ram for it and attaching my 500GB external hard drive. sound good? that way I have a mac that is half decent and have only spent around £300/350 once I add RAM. Can I just buy any DDR ram and stick it in? or does it have to be Apple's own brand five-times-the-normal-price ram?
  14. GMA 4500 driver for Snow Leopard
