This works.. however, If I change my smbios.plist to show a MacPro 5,1 with the i7 processor using #####, the machine will freeze at the apple loading screen at boot. I have also attached the /Extra folder as I had to make a few changes to it to get things working. oh, and I am running OSX 10.5.6. Any ideas?

10.5? Leopard? ;)

Use MacPro4,1

Hello MaLdOn,

So now do I have to get rid of the AppleIntelCPU kext?

Regarding the HDA, it was the only one that really worked well with the mobo. Thanks AgainIMG_4829.jpg

send me your DSDT

It also doesn't identify the processor when I have it set to MacPro3,1 but it does boot. About this mac shows "3.51 GHz Unknown"

It seems to be something with the processor identification. Any thing you can think of for me to try?

Model Name: Mac Pro

Model Identifier: MacPro3,1

Processor Speed: 3.51 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 6

L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB

L3 Cache: 12 MB

Memory: 12 GB

Processor Interconnect Speed: 6.7 GT/s

SMC Version (system): 1.30f3

Hello MaLdOn,

It starts with no KP after I removed NullCPU, my geekbench score went from 183 to 137. I've tried a couple of different voodoo HDA's but none of them work as well as the original. I'll keep trying. I hate to tell you but wake doesn't work either. Any ideas on what to try? THanks CHris

Well speedsteppings isn't working

Cpu is still at 2,4Ghz and detected FSB is 183Mhz. The AnVal loader isn't using Cstates or Pstates. This means that powermanagement isn't working correct ?

@MaLd0n: I am deeply impressed with everything you do for other people here. I hope they all understand what mad person you are, because you sir are insane (in a good way). You are my forum hero for sure!!!

paste your boot.plist here

Chameleon RC5

Chameleon_v2.0_RC5_r647.zip

I unchecked wake fix, force wake from RC5. Got it to wake up.

A while back I put these into the boot plist

<key>GeneratePStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GenerateCStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

They showed up in RC5 as a selectable box. Will RC5 do that with anything that has a yes or no string? Cool.

Am at work so I cant send you my boot plist, until tonight. I tried the newest VooDooHDA, it works but not as well as the other one. I'm going to keep trying until I get a crash or proper sound. Once again, thank you for all of your help. You are a giant, a colossus of hacking grit and persistence. Really, thank you.

If performance PerformanceStateArray and CSTInfo are present in ioreg even without generatestates enabled, then you don't need them

_PSS and _CST must be available in your SSDT

just set a compatible SMIdentifier and you are done

use voodoomonitor and check if frequencies change in status tab

VoodooMonitor indeed showing different states so speedstepping is working !

But sleep / ac adapter brightness slider isn't working,

Do I have to install VoodooPowerMini @ Voodoobattery ? Those gave KP's

Thx for the work so far !
