The 64bit parts needed are already installed so no need to re-install since you want to test it out all you need to do is as the poster above suggests is set your HPET to 64bit in your BIOS then at the Chameleon boot prompt (I believe hitting the F8 key at boot will bring it up if booting graphically) type in then hit the enter key arch=x86_64. This will boot into 64bit mode if everything works as you like with no problems during testing then to make it happen every time edit your com.apple.Boot.plist to include the arch=x86_64 line like this. <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=x86_64</string> Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/234918-how-to-boot-into-64bit-currently-in-32bit-to-check-compatibility/#findComment-1567834 Share on other sites
FKA
... and if you have Extensions.mkext in your Extra folder. either rebuild it for x86_64 with mKext tool or replace Extension.mkext with Extra/Extensions folder containing your Extra Extentions .. else you may get KP at boot!
