FakeSteez
Getting pretty choppy, around 10fps video playback on all websites, hulu, vimeo, youtube, ect. Even playback of my own 1080p footage is choppy. I installed Perian which made it a lot better, but HD video still laggs quite a bit. I'm running 4GBs of RAM, a Core 2 Duo 3GHZ processor, and a GT240 1GB DDR3 so hardware shouldn't be the problem. I can run HD video flawlessly on XP, just not on OSX. Suggestions? Gringo Vermelho
Try the latest version of VLC. 1080p 30 FPS h.264/48k 2ch AAC playback in 64-bit VLC eats up ~50% CPU here, on a Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz, 9800GTX+. With level 6 post-processing enabled it jumps to ~60%. Playback is totally smooth.

Unfortunately I don't know how to incorporate this with Premiere Pro CS5, FCP7, or Google Chrome. But now I know for SURE that it isn't my hardware.
