Shak_attack
Hello, I have a Gigabyte P55-USB3 motherboard with a Saphire ATI 5770 graphics card. I had zero problems installing SL and updating to 10.6.4. The problem i'm facing is, I don't have an HDMI monitor so, I can't use HDMI for video and audio. I have perfect sound from the front jack but I can't get rear audio (Intel audio) to work. In the settings pane I see front green, SPDIF (rear Orange) and HDMI. With that in mind, I would like to know if there is any way I can disable (or skip it somehow...) HDMI audio from my graphics card (I'm thinking it is disabling intel audio) so I can get audio from my rear port. Thank you very much and keep up the good work

Shak_attack
did you none HDMI audio work before you installed the 5770? I'm afraid I don't understand the question. I don't know if hdmi audio works. What I know is I had audio when I had a 8600 GT graphics board installed... At the moment it says I don't have a peripheral or something like that (in HDMI). Hope that helps...
FKA
you say you have front pannel sound working - this is intel audio! You will not get audio out of the rear (green) socket if you have something connected to the front pannel jack - its either or. D

FKA
Ah. Ok. I knew that. And I am only connecting o the green rear jack. Nothing else... Just swapped motherboards and now have to use VoodooHDA. Currently have settled with AppleHDA and hda (HDMI) patch to DSDT to get HDMI audio only. Tried voodooHDA with hda DSDT patch and get KP, without DSTD patch for hda (HDMI) i get rear and front panel audio but no HDMI, although HDMI audio is listed in output devices > system preferences .. Investigating/ reading, so maybe more to follow. D
