amilstead3
Want to start off by saying thanks to everyone (leaders and posters) of this forum -- thanks to you guys I'm writing this post from a running Mac OS X 10.6.4 Vanilla Install on my PC! (Important) Specs: - Intel Core2 Duo 2.6 - Gigabyte P35-DS3R - Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT-OC I am having one issue though, that I'd hope some of you may be able to help me with. After much searching around I see that people who've done the same install with my MB or at least my MB series have had major issues with audio drivers. I'm no exception. Unfortunately the massive amount of poking around on here that I've done has led me to no solution. Does anyone know the exact steps to take for this particular installation in order to get audio working? I used this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=180954 So as a result, my Chameleon bootloader partition is the version supplied as a download link there (GA-EP45-DS3L). I've also attempted to use various kernel extensions and modified dsdt.aml patches, but nothing has fixed the issue. Currently, when I access the "Audio" section of <apple logo - top left> -> "About This Mac" -> "More Info", I can see multiple entries for output and input, however the sound configuration settings under "System Preferences" indicates that I have no output devices. Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/233221-a-bit-of-help-if-at-all-possible/ Share on other sites

amilstead3
Help:Keep poking around? Advice: Buy a cheap USB sound card (make sure it is supported). =( Certainly not the kind of reply I'd hoped for, but thanks again all the same. Any suggestions on a USB sound card? I'm not familiar with them (didn't even know they existed) so I've got no idea where to start with that. All the way at the bottom. http://www.efixusers.com/showthread.php?t=213 Post back if it works. Okay, so I just tried this and it totally botched my system. I get through the apple loading screen and my monitor just goes completely black and hangs indefinitely. Any idea how I can fix this?
