Hi all,

 

have anyone made this laptop yet working with Snow? (10.6 - 10.6.4)

 

I have had some close calls ;

 

iPortable Snow can boot from USB and everything works (what i see) but graphics are at 1024x768. USB is working with this. Using it with "chocolate_kernel -v -x busratio=19". Actually i can get 1600x900x32 with Graphics Flag in com.apple.Boot.plist in /E.

 

iAtkos_S3 wont boot from DVD ...

and closest call has been myHack installer .... it is the same that i used to re-install my P5QL PRO desktop. It even booted with "chocolate_kernel -v -x busratio=19" and Graphichs Enabler so that i had 1600x900x32 on desktop. USB wont accept anything else then HSF+ disks

 

Now ; has anyone managed to make these work ?

I used iATKOS S3 V2..

 

Still don't have sound working all the way.. it works but cant adjust the volume or mute it. Sleep doesn't work.. Shutdown doesn't work. Restart works (although it seems a bit dirty). The USB ports on the right work. USB 3 ports do not.. Ethernet works, Wireless does not and never will... I bought a Rosewill USB adapter that works quite well.. Camera works OOB, QE/CI good to go. Have to type busratio=20 evertime I boot for the i7-620m.

I have installed 10.6.4 using a working Mac with universal installer.

 

Format drive

Install 10.6.4 with UInstaller

Boot using latest [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] CD

Setup OS X

Run [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] (need to use keyboard to navigate as USB mouse is not working yet) Ctrl+F7 to activate [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url])

System Utilities

Restart

 

Right side USB 3.0s work (left USB do not)

Video is sweet (nvidia quadro)

i7 620 w/ 4GB

Audio is working

WIRELESS DOES NOT (intel ultimate n 6300)

Trackpad does not, but i don't like using anyhow

Sleep does not work (but who really sleeps their pc anyway?)

 

Continued with Mac Software Update...

Installed all that showed up except 10.6.5 update

Restart

Installed 10.6.5 from downloaded previously downloaded .dmg

 

Overall not a great install, but it is a start. Ethernet works, however you need to wait until system boots before you plug in the LAN cable.
