hello, I'm nathan, and i've got a HP compaq nc4200. and what can i say, 5 disk later, around 30 installs/boots later, and i've think i've finally came to the stage where i'm gonna throw my laptop out the window. all i want in MAC OS X!!

i've tried iDeneb 10.5.5- which makes my laptop to RIDICULOUSLY hot (i have a ruined pair of trousers to prove it).

i've tried iKalaway 10.5.2 - which the disk won't boot, it just sits there looking at me. it have never works

i've tried ideneb 10.5.8- which i have installed fine. then when it boot's it turns to a plain grey screen

i've tried (recently) iPc, which loads perfectly fine, not overly hot or nothing while in verbose, but will only display a blue screen while the install is suppose to show. i have tried extrenal monitor, and that show a plain black screen instead of a blue screen.

i've tried to copies of Hazerd Snowleo 10.6.2- it boot's, install fine, perfect and all, but when i restart after the installation, it boots a grey screen like iDened 10.5.8.

i've just about had it! i have installed OSX86 on 5 PC's, and when it comes down to my own, it won't install. i know the hardware supports, since there's a guy on youtube with my laptop, running leo. it would be perfect to run Snow leo.

huh...any help will be brill.

it has a 915GM express chipset(ich6)

broadcom wireless

centronio 1.86GHz

55GB HDD

and thats it really. it has built in bluetooth, mic, sd card reader and that, but that should be generic(Voodoo)

My opinion - get rid of the Distros and get a Retail Snow Leopard DVD to install. I have successfully used Kakewalk on Gigabyte motherboards but for other types of installs there are other install procedures for using the Retail SL installer.

With the Distros you can't just update to a later .dot version of SL as can you with the Retail SL installer disc.

I posted a tutorial on installing IPC 10.5.6 on the nc4200. I'm typing this from my nc4200 hackintosh that I've been using without issue for almost a year.

follow is exactly and you will have OSX running in no time.

Good luck
