dponmac
So I was trying to repair my windows XP drive the other day, and ran "fixboot" and reboot my computer.. didn't work so I'm just like, "I'm over this, I'm gonna go back to my mac drive." So I boot on the OS X drive, and It says "Cannot find NTLDR"... {censored}. I ran fixboot on the wrong drive. I don't know why fixboot wanted to fix that drive first, but it did. So what I'm wondering is, 1)is there something in the Disk Utility on the install disk that will repair this? and 2) if so, I have 10.4.6, I don't have that DVD anymore, but I do have 10.4.3, will that fix it? or does it have to be the same version DVD? Rammjet
I'm thinking you are going to be reinstalling. Shame you didn't keep your 10.4.6 disk around. In the meantime, try this out: Boot your 10.4.3 install DVD. When you get to the first screen, go to the Utilities menu and select Terminal. In Terminal, type: sudo fdisk -u /dev/rdisk0 then give your password. Remove the DVD and try to reboot into OSX. sandmanfvrga
Ouch, hope you don't have to reinstall. I thought about dual booting, but I didn't want the cancer that is Windows on my OSX86 box.
