Alexandru1
Hello. Almost over a week i've been going in circles and going nowhere. I'm tired. I just don't know what to do anymore. No kernel panics! Hooray! Still i haven't manage to get de graphics work I tried everything, editing kexts, efi strings, natit and many others. Yesterday i just edited NVDANV40HALL and NVDAResman and added Silent Natit 64. No efi strings, nothing. When the GUI was supposed to load, monitor shuts off. I have to boot with -x to load the GUI. Someone, please tell me what else to do, it's been a long week My monitor has a VGA connector and it is connected with a DVI to VGA adapter, what will it be considered? DVI or VGA? System: mobo: Asus M2N chipset: nForce 430 MCP processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ RAM: 2 GB DDR2 667 Mhz Dual-Channel (OC 800 Mhz) LG ATA DVD-ROM Toshiba 120GB sata Hard Disk Seagate 8GB ATA HD -> install source Sound: Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Platinum (works with the driver provided on this forum) Video: nVidia GeForce 7950 GT 512 MB I can provide more info if needed. Thank you
J.B
have you tried NVenabler(64).kext? its the first download here: http://www.kexts.com/view/170-videocards_(....6_(86-64).html undo all the other changes you made before applying it, it worked for me for the system in my signature (not QE/CI but still great video playback)
Gringo Vermelho
You can't use 64-bit kernel extensions on Snow Leopard if it's running in 32-bit kernel and drivers mode (AMD CPU + no kernel panics = he's running in 32-bit mode). If in doubt, run System Profiler, click 'Extensions' in the left pane to check. It'll say 64-bit yes/no to the right. Besides, there is no 64-bit support for 7xxx series cards. Alexandru1
So if i run in 32 bit it will work? A friend of mine just edited NVDANV40HALL and NVDAResman, added silent natit 64 and his 7950 GT 512MB works with QE/CI, but it just detected 128 MB. I will try with NVEnabler. I forgot to specify that i use SL 10.6.3 Retail Thank you all for your replies Edit: also, i heard about flashing the card's ROM helps. What if i use the ROM i downloaded, with EFI, without flashing my card's ROM? Later Edit: The Extensions folder has vanished lol. It was there when i browsed it in the terminal. I opened Finder and it was no more. I opened the terminal and it wasn't there. Ok, this is funny. I'll restart and see what happens. I hope it will show up after restart and i won't need to reinstall lol

Alexandru1
OK, so i couldn't start it again. I booted with boot123 and started the installation (from the 8 GB HD). Using the console, I've copied every kext from the retail and mounted "Preboot.dmg" and copied AppleNForceATA.kext from it. Repaired permissions with Disk Utility and rebooted. I tried checking the volume for errors, but didn't find anything. I have my Extensions folder back. YEY! Now i can try something else. If someone has a better ideea... feel free to ask for my TeamViewer ID and Password. I promise i won't be an ass and keep you in TeamViewer too long Been there, i know how it feels. Get TeamViewer here -> http://www.teamviewer.com Edit: Thanks Gringo I'll stick to 32 bit.
Alexandru1
Ok, so i made a fresh install of hazard's (10.6.2). Did everything like i did before i decided to go with 10.6.3, but with one single difference. I selected Natit, which happened to be Silent Natit 64. Installation finished successfully, rebooted... and i got stuck at the "first run welcome screen" (got into a loop from movie to the part where you choose to transfer data from an old mac). But i had 85Hz! Reseted and then everything was fine. I got hardware acceleration on my 7950GT! YEY! But Natit detected just 128 MB instead of 512 I've patched my Video Card's ROM, but i don't want to flash it. I want to add it to com.apple.boot.plist. There is nothing in Extra folder, there only one c.a.b.p in /S/L/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. I got paranoid and i'm afraid to modify anything. Almost over a week boiling my brain in hackintosh. (i've even started to forget things). Someone please show me the path, i've lost it
