rokinn
My system supports CI/QE, resolution change, even color profile after I replaced 6600GT with X1600Pro. But the score of QE in Xbench is poor(about 20), and QuickTime failed to create overlay to play mov file(just show me some color bars). What's the problem? System Info OSX86 10.4.6 Amd Athlon64 3000+(754pin NO SSE3) Abit NF8 nForce3 250GB SAPPHIRE X1600Pro AGP Kingston DDR-400 512M*2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23054-does-quartz-extreme-need-sse3-support-in-someway/ Share on other sites

rokinn
It works fine in VLC to play the same mov file(rended with both QE and OGL), and there's one more strange thing that QuickTime shows the pictures correctly when docked in the Dock Bar! domino
What version of QT are you using? try downloading the cuurent one from Apple. It may be that you are using an older QT plugin when installing 3rd party apps. Also repair perms. Order2Chaos
nforce3 boards need the AGPGart kext for acceleration to work correctly , it's in the driver section under AGP driver. I only have SSE2 and everything works fine for me , I get 97.6 in the Quartz graphics test. The only thing lacking greatly is rosetta performance , but just about everything has gone universal so it's not much of an issue. rokinn
Hello Order2Chaos, seems you have the same motherboard as mine , but as far as I know, Sempron 2800+ Palermo DOES have SSE3 support(correct me if I'm wrong). So, things come back to my first point: Does Quartz Extreme need SSE3 support in someway? BTW: After I install the AGPGart.AMD64_Beta1.7(should I use this one?), system reports me that I've got no more CI/QE support. To domino: I forget the version of QT comes with 10.4.6, but I got the same result after I updated the QT to latest version(7.1.2).
