dalagr
Well i have updated bios which allowed me too boot with USB enabled to the kalaway boot and install successfully. However on reboot i get the loading messages and then i stops at BSOD harddrive: 1s2. I have tried the -s -v -f commands to no joy. Any help greatly appreciated
medorpg
Make sure you changed the Hard drive access type to AHCI not IDE in the BIOS and also try to boot with -v GraphicsEnabler=y
dalagr
Ok will try that, however i have since installed another distro the one which works for phenoms i cant remember the name anyway that boots to crash at waiting for root device. i am really not having much luck with this just checking is my system actually compatible? geiman
The waiting for root device message means its waiting for your hard drive to appear so it can mount the filesystem and continue booting. Use the previous posters advice and see if you can change your hard drive mode to AHCI the report back.
dalagr
Well i gave up last night. Turned the computer off and went to bed lol. but this morning i turn the computer on at the boot do the -v so i can see what is happening it goes straight past the waiting for kernal, but this time i got SIGSEGV code 0. so i did a bit of reading and found out i must have forgot to tick the amd patches, so kalyway is reinstalling now and i hope for the best
SqueakyMac
OS X installs can be really fussy about AMD processors, since they only work *in theory* - saying that, lots of people probably have got them to work. I tried Kalyway and Leo4all on my AMD Turion x64 notebook, with similar problems to you, it just didn't want to know at all. In the end I got stuck on a SATA problem, and then my poor old motherboard failed (it had issues!!) I was getting somewhere with Kalyway 10.5.2 - if I could have solved the SATA support problem. There were no options to change it in the BIOS. But it's all history now as my computer broke!!
expose
try if you have IDE to RAID in bios to boot ,
