Mercyful_Fate
Hello everybody, after upgrading to 10.6.4 (P35-DS3L mobo with Intel C2D cpu) my iPhone 2G doesn't show up in iTunes (9.2.1) anymore. I tried every single usb port on my tower, but with no success. If I tail the system.log at the moment I connect my iPhone on the dock, I get the following log messages: Aug 22 12:08:05 alex-dis-p35-ds3l usbmuxd[39]: _connect_to_port (thread 0xb0114000): Could not connect to USB mux port 32498 for device 5: Connection refused Aug 22 12:08:05 alex-dis-p35-ds3l usbmuxd[39]: _MobileDeviceConnect_locked (thread 0xb0114000): Could not connect to lockdown port on device 2bf99d9d7b03f4bae83dd9d8fd0978cb8d2ec86c. Thanks! === UPDATE === Problem solved. There's a software update by Apple concerning this bug (iPhone SDK something...). I downloaded it and fixed the issue. MaDxCrEaM
I'm having problems with my ipod touch after updating. All other usb items work, except ipod touch isn't recognized. Could this be the same issue? If so, I don't see the update you are talking about. Did it show up in software update? Thanks for any info.
Mercyful_Fate
Well, I also have the iPhone SDK (Xcode) installed on my system, so maybe that's the reason I got and "iPhone SDK update" in Software Update. Check your system.log and try to match your issue with other similar issues on the net (there have been other iphone/ipod-not-recognized problems reported). Also, you need to have 10.6.4 installed. MaDxCrEaM
yea I am updated to 10.6.4. I signed up for apple developer and installed the iphone sdk also. No go. Here is the message I get when plugging in my ipod touch: Aug 23 13:07:28 kevins-imac com.apple.usbmuxd[25]: DeviceRequestAsync failed: 0xe00002c2 Aug 23 13:07:28 kevins-imac com.apple.usbmuxd[25]: MuxDeviceGetPreferredConfigurationAsync failed: 0xe00002c2 Aug 23 13:07:57 kevins-imac com.apple.usbmuxd[25]: DeviceRequestAsync failed: 0xe00002c2 Aug 23 13:07:57 kevins-imac com.apple.usbmuxd[25]: MuxDeviceGetPreferredConfigurationAsync failed: 0xe00002c2 I followed the guide to delete itunes and re-install from apple's knowledgebase but that didn't help either. I also see numerous posts of iphones, ipod touches not being detected like mine on apples forums but see no real solution.
k0ns0le
I am running 10.6.4 and had the same issue with my iPhone 3G not recognised. SL comes with 8.2.1 and updating to 9.2.1 causes KP's, I can't even boot safe mode. Anyone know if you can normally upgrade itunes without any probs or is there a procedure to follow?
