8800GT and ALC889A Not Working in Snow Leopard

My fiance has just put together a hackintosh build and could really do with some advice.

The specs are as follows:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Motherboard

Intel Pentium Dual Core E6700 3.2GHz

6GB DDR2 Ram (3 x 2GB)

64GB SSD

Pioneer SATA DVDRW

nVidia 8800GT 512MB Graphics

We are trying to install Snow Leopard and have got a Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD and we're using this installation method. The install went smoothly and even the sound on the motherboard worked but once we installed the 10.6.4 combo update, the sound stopped working. Additionally, the graphics card doesn't get recognized and we've tried changing the two NVDAxxx kexts for ones from 10.6.0 but that didn't work either.

Has anyone got any advice on how we can get the 8800GT graphics card and ALC889A Audio working in 10.6.4?

Thanks

Try the EFI string in the com.apple.Boot.plist I posted in this thread some time ago I still had my Gigabyte P35 based board back then so it should just work for you as the bus routing should be the same. For the sound you just need to replace the .kext(s) that were overwritten when you updated the AppleHDA is one if my memory serves me well not sure of the others, if you really want a good long term no messing around solution then get an old SB Audigy card and use the kX driver that can be found on the site here it works great.

change this kext. nvdanv50hal.kext in s/l/e (for 10.6.4)

add in your com.apple.boot.plist

use lizard for edit and add: http://darwinx86.net/applications/utilitai...-pour-chameleon

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1680x1050x32</string> "your resolution monitor"

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

and autoselect your pci root.... 0 or 1

repair your permissions.

restart

alc889a work whith voodoo hda, delete applehda.kext

NVDANV50Hal.kext.zip
