OryHara
GeForce 6600 PCIE x16. Does this work well with the macvidia drivers? GeForce 7200? Which nvidia card, should I get, and expect it to work / semi work in future versions? Im buying this card because I play Halo, Doom 3, and Quake 4. Thats about all the games I play. Sugarat
The macvidia drivers will likely work, but you won't gut QE or CI with any Nvidia cards I don't think. OryHara
Today I managed to get to try out 5 different cards. Here are the ones I tried. Don't remember the "Brand" of the cards, but I can tell you the chips. GeForce 6600 (two of them, different brands) GeForce 6800 GeForce 7300 All of these produced artifacts / distortion with the newest MacVidia drivers. But did let me change resolutions and was able to use dual display. But the display was so f***ed up it was unusable. ATI X1600 256mb Caused a completely black screen with some artifacts at the top where finder should be. Jas 10.4.6 Image from piratebay. I had an x600pro that I sold which worked great, BUT it had small artifacts when the screen scrolled, and it wouldn't switch resolutions, although QE/CI worked with the Radeon9700 kext. Im an nvidia person, but running Doom3 at minimal on a GMA 900 bugs the hell outa me. Don't really want to spend over $150 on a decent card. There has to be something out there that runs perfect. I successfully installed (2 hours ago) macvidia drivers (1.0.7 b2) and changed video resolution (to 1440x900: I've a wide screen laptop)... I'm not a gamer too...but I think the games OryHara wanna play don't work gratly with any nVidia card 'coz 3d acceleration isn't supported... poofyhairguy
ATI X1600 256mbCaused a completely black screen with some artifacts at the top where finder should be. Did you try the Boris method? Thats the only card on earth that works 100% with OSX86 (besides Intel's stuff). I think only PCI-Express version work though. If this whole thread is about AGP then the first investment is one in a new motherboard.
