osx7
I'm having an insane issue with my sound on my hackintosh laptop. Everytime I boot up the microphone is automatically set to be on with audio going straight to the speakers. I can go into VoodooHDA settings and turn the microphone input off but it resets to full when ever I turn the laptop back on. The main issue with this is I use this laptop mainly at school and the school desks have metal lets and supports. Microphones + metal = feedback feedback = DAMN LOUD! Is there a kext I can get to fix the issue?
osx7
It's gotten worse now, I decided I may be able to fix it by downloading VoodooHDA.kext and replacing the current one but now I have no sound at all! HELP ME!!!

iliveinabucket
Ah so how did you fix it? I have a similar problem. VoodooHDA settings never save after reboot or wake up. I always turn the Input Gain down because it makes a static noise, but it resets everytime I boot or wake up!
mac_carol
you can run the voodoohdahelper to save/load settings at logout/login and run the "Voodoo HDA Helper.app" to get rid of its console verbose output

Rob G
The newest VooDoo HDA makes my speakers sound like they are playing an old Vinyl Record, I had to reinstall an older one.
