Hi,

I have been able to install and boot Vanilla SL 10.6 from an external HDD.

Sound, Ethernet and WiFi don't work

Wifi: RealTek RTL8191SE 802.11b/g/n Wifi Adapater

Ethernet: Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller

Would appreciate help locating one of these kexts.

Thanks in Advance. :)

Thanks for the link. I have downloaded the Ethernet driver.

Am in the process of reinstalling SL on the external HDD. Will report on how it worked.

Has anyone seen a driver for the Realtek Wifi card. I found the Linux source for the Realtek card. Has anyone ported it to OS X?

Glad to see someone installing on a Medion. I have one of these machines about 10 years ago (multi media PC, as they called it!).

very well made and cheep !! :(

I bought my Medion MultiMedia PC about 8 or 9 years ago. Great machine. Great value. Very compatible with OS X 10.5.x. Have not bothered to upgrade to 10.6.x, but will do when I get some time... just for the exercise.

Now I want to get Snow working on the Akoya. I had it working but now it won't book with Snow anymore. Something has broken.

Still looking for the Realtek WiFi driver. A netbook without WiFi is not much use.

Booted with JoliCloud Linux. Sound, WiFi, Ethernet all work, so the Linux drivers must be able to be ported to OS X.
