was poking around the internet and found a really sweet deal on the Intel D945 GTPLR Motherboard.

unfortuantely said model is not listed in the HCI specifically.

anyone have any experience with it?

there is an Asus P5LD2 Mothrboard that members of this board have had succecss with but this is actually more expensive... and i can't for the life of me figure ou the differences between the two save for the name of the manufacturer.

which MB would you guys use in yr hackintosh project?

thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.

brgds/cmm.

This board should work well for you except I believe this is the one with the onboard 5.1 sound which I do not believe anyone has gotten to work yet. If you can you should try one of the 945 board with the Sigmatel 9220 not 9223 audio chip. See here for more info on the 945 boards.

I just installed 10.4.6 on a mate's system with an Intel D945GPMLKR. It's got the Sigmatel audio 9223 which needs a small patch and then only outputs through the input. A minor problem. Probably because of that I haven't yet sussed out how to get a headset with mic working (for Skype etc)

All other features are supported to perfection, video, LAN, USB, Firewire. The install even recognised a Maxtor 200GB SATA HD but I didn't dare installing on it. My mate wanted the SATA as a data drive only anyway.

Nice board. I reckon the often snubbed GMA950 looks way better on OSX than on XP, not to mention Linux. Crisp and fast enough for most apps incl video.

cheers

Personally I love the GMA 950, works fantastic with no artificats. Havent really tested it much for gaming purposes though. Only thing I hate is to get dual-display you need to add an ADD-2 card, and it seems like they do not make a VGA one, only DVI-D (digital) which means you cant use a DVI to VGA adapter, and I have yet to find an affordable DVI-D monitor to make this an attractive offer.

Overall for just daily OSX use the GMA950 rocks, no fuss or muss to get it working at all.
