This is only about a month old. It was a project of mine when I had my Windows box.Basically, get Quake 4 and Prey working on the lower radeons.Prey though, worked perfectly on the lower radeons.Quake 4, required time.

Quake 4 nativly needs a video card that supports Pixel shader 2.0, my Radeon I think only supports 1.4...I can't remember. But, I had to do a bit tweaking with this....I had to alter some of the textures alittle, and use a tailored config, not a problem.Quake 4 booted good.

QUAKE 4 SETTINGS

Texture Quality-Medium

Bump maps-on

specular-on

high quality special effects-on

Resolution-800x600

Screens now.

If you notice, the color around the ammo count that are on guns are purple.Small problem, fixable, haven't gotten to it ever.Tried to fix it, here's what I got.

Reinstalled Quake 4, and it was still like this.Nothing I could do about it.

And now Prey.Settings with Prey, I forget what they were.

I know so much though. The same settings as Quake 4, even though Prey has more settings in video.

With Quake 4, the only lag at all is when you start it up, and load a game. Takes a minute or 2 to load, but when completing one level, and going to the next, like a 10 second load.

Hopefully, Farcry will be my next project to work on the lower radeons in good quality.
