I try almost everything

RC5,Boot disk 0.1 ,other kernel and extra..

gave me so much problem..

simple way is just use 0.5 boot cd

RC4, Tools kernel ETC... for me

Good luck everyone..

follow the steps here?

RC5 going to give kernel panic

inside tools use RC4 and use mach_kernel..

Here is what i did after install retail 10.6.3

download tools in 1st page

use bootcd 0.5 to boot Snow Hard Drive

(I had to use -v -x PciBoot=1 flag) in 0.5

0-install show all file to see hiden files

1-upgrade to 10.6.4 do not restart

2-install chamelon

3-install kernel and amd patch

4-install fakeSMC with Kext

5-replace com.apple.boot with Extra folder

6-Run kext utility or pfix & Reboot

7-install Nivida Driver and NV kext

8-install realteck sound card & network

tried downloading a new install dvd, restored to external HD and this is what I'm getting now

First- use only one monitor connected to vga(if its present), second switch in bios between IDE and ACHI. Use different boot flags like -v, -x, -f, cpus=.... Best way go to you wife's mac and make a bootable flashdrive with SL on it, it will save you time swapping cd in and selecting boot partition.

Try to get to install screen...the rest can be fixed.

for each frambuffer, if successful, i should be able to boot into SL.

and if not working, it will hang at the white loading screen right? how long do i wait for each and reboot and test with another frambuffer

is your problem that screen trun off before reaching desktop

when you get black screen or panic or crashed screen restart

and use anther

be sure that you installed gfx update 1.0

can i know where to get the gfx update from? apple?

and also i need to add Graphicenabler in boot.list right? the boot.list needs to be in /Extra? or the default installed for rc5 which is library/preference/sys config

*it's ok, i found the gfx update link

the kernel part is the below?

1- download above tools

2-you will find two files mach_kernel and amd patcher

3 run terminal

4- type rm /mach_kernel

5-copy mach_kernel on tools to mac partion

6-now patch some files

7- first copy amd patcher to /usr/bin

8- run terminal again

9- type this command

CODE

sudo -s

amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/dyld /usr/lib/dyld.patched

cp /usr/lib/dyld.patched /usr/lib/dyld

amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib.patched

cp /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib.patched /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

now you finished patching

you need to add to boot.plist

on kernel flags

-force64

this flag important to run on 64bit
