Ok so I am somewhat knowledgeable with computers. But I have never tried setting up a hackintosh system.

Can you Please explain to me what I need to do, to get snow leopard on my system:

x4 965 @ 3.7ghz

5850

4gb ddr2 1066mhz

80gb Intel SSD

And can you please tell me what "Distros" "Vanilla" "Kext" ect are?

Also I know there are only immature drivers for my 5850 but, that should change with 10.6.4, and the new mac pro's right?

Thanks a Lot.

not sure about installing to your specific system (you will have to google around for specialised guides)

but to answer your other questions

Distros/distributions - various "modded" OSX installers/operating systems that have been somewhat changed to accept generic PC hardware more easily, they also tend to streamline the install process by having various things built in such as kexts which can be selected, these distros all have modded "non vanilla" kernels

Vanilla - refers to the unmodified kernel that is made by apple for their OSX machines, and sold on all their install discs, this too are good to use as they make updating a lot easier (to say the least)

kext - Means Kernel EXTension, and is the somewhat near the equivalent of a windows driver, they help OSX to recognise hardware. A lack of support from one of these usually leaves your system unbootable, meaning you would have to find and install them

Lastly, yes, there is meant to be a little more support for ATI hardware in 10.6.4...so ive heard, i prefer nVidia

Can anyone please help me with? all I need is to be pointed in the right direction

T inhanks advance!

AFAIK based on what you have posted, you have BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX A2+

Chipsets:

North Bridge AMD 790GX

South Bridge AMD SB750

Onboard Video Chipset ATI Radeon HD 3300

Onboard Audio Chipset Realtek ALC888

Onboard LAN Chipset Realtek 8111C

Max LAN Speed 10/100/1000Mbps

Suggest you start here ........as you will see, you need to use a non-vanilla kernel and AMD SB700 chipset kext etc.............you may need to add your chipset Device ID to the kext's Info.plist.............
