firefoxsilver9
I don't have a camera so i had to type out everything. ON the screen it showed this and some other id numbers: backtrace continues... firefoxsilver9
I now observe that the kernel panics happen when i boot up my laptop on battery power without the ac adapter and it boots fine with the ac adapter plugged in. I'm assuming this is a power management issue.
rimoe
i also have nearly the same problem. when i boot on external power everything works fine but when i unplug the power chord the system stops but gives no Kernel Panic. i also think its a power problem. does anyone have an issue for that problem. Biso007
I use Voodoobattery.kext and I get kernel panic if I was on battery and then plug the power cord. Everything works fine w/o the kext but in that case I have not battery info.
oldtopman
I would check to see if there is an option to disable power management during startup. Are you guys using Chameleon?
firefoxsilver9
I would check to see if there is an option to disable power management during startup. Are you guys using Chameleon? Yes i'm using Chameleon RC4. Here's a log of my most recent successful boot. What disadvantages would i have if i disabled power management? I'm also starting to get panics during operating system usage. 2 so far. 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel npvhash=4095 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel Darwin Kernel Version 10.3.0: Fri Feb 26 11:57:13 PST 2010; root:xnu-1504.3.12~1/RELEASE_X86_64 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel vm_page_bootstrap: 730610 free pages and 23054 wired pages 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel kext submap [0xffffff7f80600000 - 0xffffff8000000000], kernel text [0xffffff8000200000 - 0xffffff8000600000] 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel standard timeslicing quantum is 10000 us 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel mig_table_max_displ = 73 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel [SleepEnabler] Registering PowerManagement dispatch table... 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel [SleepEnabler] in the event of a kernel panic, please use pmVersion... 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel [SleepEnabler] Calling pmInitComplete()... 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=0 LocalApicId=0 Enabled 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=1 LocalApicId=1 Enabled 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel calling mpo_policy_init for Quarantine 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel Security policy loaded: Quarantine policy (Quarantine) 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel calling mpo_policy_init for Sandbox 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel Security policy loaded: Seatbelt sandbox policy (Sandbox) 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel calling mpo_policy_init for TMSafetyNet 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel Security policy loaded: Safety net for Time Machine (TMSafetyNet) 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel Copyright © 1982, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993 8/10/10 3:02:54 PM kernel The Regents of the University of California. oldtopman
Please wrap your logs in: code tags It prevents your post from being too long. Disabling Power Management should make your computer unawares of your power setup. Disadvantages would make... I don't know, but it should be nothing too bad. I also suspect a kext at foul play. Get your computer to boot and then try some .kexts I occasionally got KP's during regular usage, but it was usually when I had FireFox and ThunderBird open at the same time. I suspected that it had to do with the RAM. When I doubled my RAM (1gb after double) I've only had 1 KP since. Are you dual booting Window$? oldtopman
If I was a betting person, I would say that your problem is with your power management .kext. .kexts are not my area of expertise.
firefoxsilver9
fixed my issue by removing VoodooBattery and using this modded kext instead. I got battery icon and now i can close my laptop lid without going into dead sleep. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...0&start=20#
