fedriko
I heard there's a startup chime on all macs like windows has. I've installed retail snow leopard 10.6.4 using empireEFI. I've also tried many versions like iatkos and kalyway but never heard the startup sound. How to enable it? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/226477-startup-chime/ Share on other sites
Mushishi
The startup chime on macs are a part of the EFI and not the os... There is tho if you have a supported gigabyte motherboard a modded bios from one of the users in here that will add that chime. kalel83
if you search a little you'll find an app that someone made that plays the sound when you log into os x. it's not at all like having it play when you turn on your computer, but currently it's as far as you can get. also, there is a chance that http://cartri.net/blog/ might add it to the x58/p55 bios he makes.. but that would probably take a year or two Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/226477-startup-chime/#findComment-1519218 Share on other sites
