I use osx86 on a intel machine.

I enabled front row using the current enabler and front row. I had iPhoto installed and iTunes. My keyboard and mouse preference panel caused system preferences to crash. I tried reinstalling the package bezelservices.loginplugin and .framework from both the jas update and the apple update. I checked the checksums on the hard disk on those of the install by using pasifist. They were the same. Yet when i open the system preferences it still crashes.... Any help would be very nice.. I don't want to have to format by the way.

You used a guide that isn;'t really recommened by the majory of the people on this site. You will have problems with the bezelservices and you need to restore the bezelservices files using the installer disk. I suggest you go to escabar's <--sp? site and ask for assistance there.

I just figured it out but I still need help...

I didn't use the COMBO update for 10.4.7 which was the problem....

All I need now is the jas or other person 10.4.7 COMBO updater...

There was a thread on this site with someone who has it and I ave not gotten a pm back even though hes online :thumbsdown_anim:

O well

anyways,

Do you think it would hurt my computer permenantly if I used the apple combo updater and just installed the bezelservices.loginplugin and the bezelservices.privateframeworks...

If not, I will

If so, please help me get the combo updater that is safe.

If you would like to email it to me, just pm me for my email address....\

Thanks in advance

Use the version bezel "stuff" located on the installer disk to restore them.

I don't know, but read the instructions in SemjaZa's 10.4.7 update and see if it tells you to back bezelservices. If not, re-apply the 10.4.7 Combo update and use his instructions so you don't end up with a dead OS. You'll need to download MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.7Intel.dmg from Apple. take note of the name and don't install any other.

What I mean is.. If you didn't see any instructions about backing up bezelservices in SemjaZa's 10.4.7 update, then you can update with 10.4.7 combo.

I'm not really sure if belzelservices is updated though. You'll have to browse though the update package with Pacifist. If it's not in the combo update, then you will need to browse through the archives of your installer dvd or ISO using pacifist and find the bezelservices files and install it manually. It's a bit tricky though. In the future, back up anything you replace or edit!
