Hi fellow InsanelyMac members,

I recently built my own PC and I want to install Snow Leopard on it (Big Surprise!).

The components are:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE

Asus M4A79XTD EVO MoBo

ATI Radeon Saphire HD5770

4 GB RAM

The processor and motherboard shouldn't form a problem as there's one guy in the HCL with the same setup. He used Hazards distro, so I tried to do the same. It boots up, I can see some boot up screens and then it reboots again.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong, it's probably something very newbish. Should I use another distro? Do I need to format?

Thanks in advance!

AMD up{censored} You need a patched Kernel like the VoodooKernel, in case of some missing opcodes

g`luck

When is the restart loop? have you installed Mac and it gets the restart loop while booting? OR

do you get a restart loop while booting the Disc itself?

if you've managed to boot the OS DVD- then your fine, you just need to play around with configurations. the modbin kernel doesn't work for me, i use the legacy kernel.

if the disc is not booting- i've had the same problem(And got past it), and it's down to a dodgy disc. download the DVD off the Original Hazard website not off any "Back Street" Web torrent site like some people do.

GOOGLE is your friend when it comes to finding the site.

if you have downloaded the one off the hazard website and it's still not booting, try just using a different Distro.

also i would fiddle about with some settings on the bios. read the user manual and check to see if ACHI is enabled.

I get into the reboot loop when booting the DVD the first time, I see this screen kakboaaca.jpg screen and then it reboots.

I used the image from the original Hazard site, so that shouldn't be the problem.

I'll try different kernels and when that fails another distro.
