WallyFTW
After a bit of researching I've found out about Chameleon's ability to do a quiet boot. Now I have a SATA & IDE HDD but obviously I prefer the SATA HDD. The SATA HDD has Win 7 installed on it and I'd like to use that as my primary OS but still be able to boot into OS X. What I mean is use Chameleon's quiet boot mode to skip the bootloader GUI completely and make the Win 7 boot seamless but also have the ability to hit that "special key" that will bring the bootloader back to choose OS X. So now the question is what is that special key exactly (if any)? If there's no such key, please reply back stating so. If there is such key, reply back stating so then, ultimately, that would make my day Thanks Specs are in my sig. danielkza
Can't you just use the 'Timeout' option in your boot.plist? It works just like you mentioned, booting the default partition after a given time has passed, and still letting you choose if you press anything. WallyFTW
Doing that would defeat the purpose of having a seamless boot into Win 7 but if the 'special key' doesn't exist then I'll just set the timeout to a very short time such as 2 seconds and auto boot Win 7. WallyFTW
F8 If this is true, then that would really make my day. I'll go try it out and report back after I finish some things. EDIT: Yeup works beautifully. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/225589-chameleon-quiet-boot-question/#findComment-1513870 Share on other sites
