EeeHa!!!
Hello. I have notebook Asus U30Jc. ( http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=IZfJRyRqVpStMi76 ). It has two video cards: NVIDIA GeForce 310M and Intel GMA HD. I try to install MacOS X 10.6.3 using original image according to this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1477061 (Laptops are very similar in configuration). The problems start when i tryed install updates, MBP 1.3 or 10.6.4 Combo. System crashes when loading the driver for Intel GMA HD. Question: How i can disable this device so that system does not see and did not try to load the driver? A CMOS Setup can not do it. I tried to delete the appropriate kext. As a result, the system booted, but it was looked mmm... funny. Unfortunately i did not take a picture. Not an option. PS. Sorry for my english. dba137
I can't help you about this topic but do you mind telling me how SL runs on your Asus even without proper video? Do you get native resolution? freighthog
Can anyone help?? I need an Efi string for my Geforce 310M graphic card. I have Snow Leopard installed and would like to get my default resolution 1366 x 768@60MHz. I have tried many suggestions but nothing works. also when i try to watch movies i only hear the sound. Maybe someone with the same notebook would like to exchange ideas. here are my specs. I used IATKOS installer. all the other installers gave me a reboot. almost everything is working except Video and Wifi. IATKOS installer Customization In order to start the installation and to get my notebook up and running I did not uncheck the default options. Additionally selected these options • Modified Kernels “qoopz 10.3.0” • Bootloader Options “Graphics Enabler” • SATA/IDE “AHCI SATA” • PS/2 “Voodoo PS/2” • Enablers “NVEnabler” • CPU Power Management “Voodoo Power” • Laptop Hardware “Voodoo Battery” • Laptop Hardware “Card Reader". surfstu
hi Frighthog any luck yet with the video? i think the reason you have no video is you have not got qe/ci? I have a similar laptop k52jc, it has intel hd gma and nvidia 310m 1gb, it is switched by opimus technology. I have tried many options, device id's in nvdan50 kext and nvdaresman Do you have appleintelhdgraphics.kext and appleintelhdgraphicsfb.kext loaded? In your system profiler it probably tells you that you have no kext loaded for intel graphics? I have not tried efi string yet because i do not know how to create one I am hoping that apple have not made the 'switching' device in hardware and that someone can make the integrated graphics work without it expecting there to be a 'switch' to nvidia gpu I do not mind not using the nvidia gpu, which shows up in system profiler but is not used i just need qe/ci to run logic 9 stuart Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/225185-asus-u30jc-trouble-with-intel-gma-hd-videocard/#findComment-1520736 Share on other sites
