Nvidia GTS 250 dosen't work under 10.6.4

Hey there,

 

I got a NVIDIA GTS250 with 1GB

 

The GPU has 1x VGA, 1xDVI and 1xHDMI outs

 

I can only make VGA running, HDMI and DVI just show me a black screen

 

Nevertheless I really need HDMI AND DVI

 

As OS I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. retail

 

I already tested EFI Strings, but then NO Video outs are working.

 

Please help!

Hello,i have a similar problem.The EFI string is correct and quartz Extreme is aviable but !!! -> The Performance is veeeery descent , icant even watch videos fluently,and the boot process is very slow ..... in verbose mode its like 2 lines per second

Having the same issue under 10.6.4. The VGA port works, but I only get a black screen on the DVI or HDMI ports.

I post this running a GTS250 under 10.6.4 with full QE/CI etc via DVI.

No EFI string no nothing just chameleon autodetection. (you can activate it using the Lizard utility)

I use chameleon.

 

In your com.apple.Boot.plist

 

if you use EFI partition then the location should be /Volumes/EFI/Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist

 

if not it would be /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist, place these lines in just before </dict> line

Hello it works, but only vga and dvi. The native hdmi port dosen't work, it's only a blackscreen :-(

Do you guys already tried with ANVAL Boot or ASEREBLN boot?

 

Both already detect alot of video cards, you dont need EFI strings or strange kexts.

 

I had a GTS 250 and works perfect with Anval and Asere, but my card dont have VGA just two DVI and one HDMI.

Hey have you try to update the build-in drivers with the official version 19.5.8f03 (2010.06.18) from the nvidia site, I have the best performance with this driver and my GTX 260. They have also fixed up some display port detection problems !

@sudhach It isnt the EFI String that enables your Card its the.... guess it... Graphics enabler option...YES, not your EFI String but thanx anyway for the contribution^^

EfiX is commercial and they are stealing code from our open-source-hackintosh-coder-heroes, and in my opinion posts about EFI-X and stuff hosted by Efi-X should be forbidden here. They try to make money out of open source stuff, They are sooo money-grubbing without any ethical aspects ! Efi-X is nothing more than a write protected USB-Stick so far called "dongle" with a Bootloader and preinstalled drivers for people with money but without any kind of passion and intellect.

 

EFI-X is inadvisable, and, in my eyes, its highly recommend to boycott them, Thanx
