alborius
Sorry if anyone gets upset with this being my first post in my first topic. I have been reading on these forums for a while now but only made an account the other day. Anyway allow me to just dive right in with my issue, hopefully someone may have experienced this in the past. I have a nvidia 9800gt card that I have been trying to get to support quartz extreme on my lovely Iatkos 7 hackintosh. but no matter which method I try I can't seem to get that feature to work, the graphics do it's just QE support doesn't. I searched through these forums and google and have tried all the methods I could come across but alas they don't work or I'm just an idiot (probably the second of the two). I tried the EFI Studio approach, OSx86 tools, AquaMac's gfxutil with the in.plist and out.hex where you replace com.apple.boot. I even tried doing a clean restore a couple of times with other 'solutions' i found. doing all of my updates wasn't helpful either. If it sounds like I'm complaining I'm not and hope that nobody takes it that way I really want to learn how to fix this issue. If anyone has any idea please give me a point in the right direction. Here is my graphics set up at the moment. I havent tried adding device id's to some of the kexts as I have heard some people have tried it. We can solve this problem! I don't really care how either, I even tried using a long dvi to vga on my plasma but it ghosted the image :-(. Anyone know what I should do if I buy a new video card and pop it in? I am embaressed to say I am not sure how this graphics card is working. I used a efi string in 10.5. In Snow Leopard I think I am using graphics enabler. I can check. What I am not sure of is if I can plug and play a new video card or how I should go about doing that. I don't really have the time or desire to screw with the 9800. I can sell that and get a new one that will work I would be happy. I got some audio work I want to use iLife 11 and also want to use facetime with fams :-) Thanks for any tips.
