Hi,

iam running macosx on a Sata HDD. On the same HDD is a 127Gb NTFS partition. but i cant activate it in mac os x. Is there a size limit?

other partitions e.g. 70Gb or 80Gb NTFS work fine and i can mount´em.

update:

In the HDD management tool i can see the NTFS partition and the activate button is also there. But when i click on it nothing happens. In the consolewindow it says the partition is activated succesful but it isnt mounted. How can i get access on it?

See the update above !

in the HDD management tool you can activate partitions or HDDs. when you activate a partition it is normaly auto-mounted. but my partition isnt automounted. and iam not sure if the partition is already active.

the partition is a logical and not hidden.

a day ago i merged 2 NTFS partitions to this 127GB NTFS and now i cant mount/activate it.

before this problem accured, did you have any problems mounting logical partitions? If not, then the way the 2 partitions were merged is the problem. It's a partition structure that OS X doesn't understand and can not mount.

Btw, OS X has no problem mounting logical partitions. Only problem while installing Tiger on logical partitions.

Hm, couldnt figure out the problem. I had never problems with any kind of logical, primary, active, not active NTFS partitions. my kexts all work great w/o any errors on kextload. So it must be a problem the way how the partations are made. (in windows/dos mode) Like domino already said.

Maybe larger cluster size? i dont know. but i need NTFS to handle files greater than 4GB (Isos, DMGs)
