Hey people,

When I put an OSX86 10.5.x disk in I get a ...boot.slist not found error. When I put S3 Iatkos in, I don't get the error because of Chameleon, but it offers me no way of installing. It just lists my partitions.

System has a hardware raid.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

How is your DVD drive attached, via the ICH9R on a SATA cable?

Ok, one idea. Set the bios to AHCI instead of RAID and see if it see's the DVD drive? It shouldn't damage the RAID array if you don't try to boot Windows. You may need to install it like that and once the Bootloader is installed on your Snow Hard Drive and then set the bios back to RAID.

Is that not very risky. It is a hardware raid, it won't copy it onto both drives. Yes, SATA cable.

In that case it should be fine. I can't take responsibility if it frags your RAID Array but it should be fine if you don't boot into Windows, just boot up the iAtkos S3 DVD to see if it works.

How will the RAID know to mirror the second volume though? Because the OS X is being installed onto a partition which lies within the RAID array.

Basically, Two volumes. Two Partitions across those two volumes (one of which OS X will be installed on). One RAID.

Still had no luck myself. Tried to install it the other day but wouldn't have it. If I initialize the hard drive (its currently RAW) is there a way I could force the install if its not willing to pickup the DVD drive. I'm a little gutted that I've not been able to do it tbh. :(
