maflynn
Hey all, I built out an i7 desktop that I'm interested in turning into a hackintosh. I'm really not happy with the ATI HD 5670 card as ATI has poor linux drivers. I'm thinking of getting the GTX 465 (fermi card) which looks like I'll get really good performance for windows 7, linux drivers. I'm worried about the compatibility with OSX if I opt for that. I was going to get the gtx 260 but the cost of that wasn't that much cheaper then the 465 at the moment (newegg sale for the fermi board). I'm concerned that the gtx 260's performance under windows 7 will be much worse then the state of the art gtx 465 Can someone chime in on the gtx 260's performance in relation to the gtx 465 or state that the gtx 465's compatibility with OSX Thanks in advance Mike
Mackilroy
The 465, 470 and 480 are not compatible with OS X. Neither are the 5xxx series from ATI, for that matter.

pirloui
The AMD HD5XXX line noted as not supported earlier; are supported now. (At least the 5770 which is a fine card)
Mackilroy
That was five months ago – Apple hadn't released any hardware with 5XXX cards yet. You're correct that they're supported now, though.
