cspeed8
Hi. First of all i want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this outstanding work! Nevertheless i have quite a bunch of problems left after successful installation. My specs: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Winchester) Gigabyte Board w/ nForce3 chipset 1 Gig RAM I created the DVD as decribed in the guide above. Checksums and everything were ok. The PC booted from the DVD as expected and i installed the OS on a blank Maxtor HD (ATA) with SSE3 support (you mentioned in the hardware reqs, SSE3 is native to all AMD Athlon 64 cpus). Everything went ok and after the successful installation i rebboted. 1. Reboot (w/o the -v option): the OS X bootscreen appeared and after a few moments i got the black "You need to restart you computer"-screen 2. Rebbot (w/ -v option enabled): i got a kernel panic after a few moments (see attached screen shot. It ist literally a "Screen Shot", because a took a picture of my monitor with my digicam. Hopefully you guys can read anything on it Kernel Panic Screen Shot 3. Reboot (w/ -v AND -x option enabled): trying to boot in safe mode, everything seems to work at first, but then the message "localhost /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started" This message is repeated quite a hundred times, if i would wait long enough. The System doesn't go on with the boot process. So, i haven't been able to boot OS x successfully. Yet. Maybe you guys can help me with that. Do you think, my problems are nForce2 related? Or are the SSE related? Did i install the wrong support? I would be very happy, if anyone has an idea, what to do. If these issues are Motherboard related, it would be NO problem to buy anotherone. Ideas, anyone? Again, thank you for your great work! This is all i ever wanted: my favourite OS on a relative cheap plattform. Greetz Charlie P.S.: I'm sorry for my horrible english...... P.P.S.: you say, SSE3 is native on all Athlon 64. But when i check my system with WinXP and SiSoft Sandra, it says about the Athlon 64 3200+: "SSE Technology : Yes SSE2 Technology : Yes SSE3 Technology : No" Is this just a diagnotics problem or are there differences between the Athlon64's? huong23
Only the newest revision of Athlon 64 has SSE3. You have Winchester revision (same as mine)..so only SSE2. You'll need to patch for SSE3->SSE2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2209-few-problems-with-release-1-and-amd-athlon64/#findComment-14372 Share on other sites

cspeed8
Remove AppleCHUDUtils.kext and AppleCHUDTools.kext. The error message gives you a clue... Is nothing about SSEx <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll give it a try. New clean installation with SSE2 support und then removing those kexts you mentioned. Maybe combining your two hints will lead to success. For the moment: THANKS! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2209-few-problems-with-release-1-and-amd-athlon64/#findComment-14860 Share on other sites
