Can't get 4870 1gb working with QE/CI

Thank you for helping me out so much. Appreciate it, I have it working except for selecting my native resolution. My monitor is a 19inch wide and on windows I use 1440 by 900. But on this SL for my resolution change, theres no option for my native. Any help on that? Thanks.

 

EDIT: Had a look at the bios thing in video info. Doesn't even show my native resolution... Im using an ACER19inch wide. Sighs...

you can open the frontrow?

 

use the driver package, use the arch=i386

 

install the "drivers" and then the "framebuffer", if not activate, use the "exotics" in accordance with their system

 

if the screen goes jumping, use the natitpowerplay

yeah everything works graphics wise and acceleration thanks to your help

I can change my resolution and there's a lot of options. But none of them are my native resolution.

I've researched a lot on google, and I think it has to do with my monitor. It's an old acer 19inch widescreen. Like 4 years old now or so. So yeah.... Thank you anyway.

I followed your instruction using package from megaupload. i'm using 4850 saphire.

modified Boot.plist, installed no 1 and no 2 then restart -x

but what i get is blank screen, then the monitor ask for analog or digital input

 

any suggestion, i haven't come into applying no3

Add your graphic card's ID in Info.plist of ATI4800Controller.kext

i've tried almost all the successful methodes which is posting in this forum for the GPU.

but none of them is works for me - black- and white screen

I was unable to use FCP (VRAM error) after installing 10.6.4 on my HD4870 1GB hackintosh. I downloaded Netkas' PC EFI 10.6 boot file and swapped it in. Previously I was using a Chameleon based boot loader. Everything works again now.

 

So, don't go swapping system files. Just install PC EFI 10.6 until Chameleon figures out what the bug in their code is.

 

I attached it since Netkas's mirror seems to be down.

 

I am still having to use a dongle to see my desktop as otherwise I get a black screen.
