Xan21
So ive officially installed OSX 10.6 on my Acer Aspire 5740G and everything is working great except for my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650. My resolution is stuck at 1024x768 when i would love to get it to 1366x768. Ive tried the commands "Graphics Mode"=1366x768x32" but it doesn't work and even sets my mode to 800x600! I was wondering if there was a way for me to just get my resolution higher. I know that there is no 5xxx kext out yet but I dont need QE/Cl support only want a higher rez. Any ideas? creative4art
yeh its probably because you do not have the right drivers and you are using VESA. Type in ?video at boot prompt to see the compatible display resolutions and it may work out. Most of them might be 4:3 formats only.
Xan21
ill try that ?video thingy. I hope there not all 4:3 cuz i have a 16:9 laptop lol
Xan21
Nope all the resolutions it lists dont work. all are 4:3 and too big for the screen. So i need a way to force the resolution i need.

lince5
Maybe, if we (or someone) contact with netkas, he will do something about this (QE/CI is supported in ati 5xxx series up to 5700, 5800 and 5900 for desktop, so it is possible). I don't how to make an ioreg dump of the graphic card in windows or linux for send it to netkas. I have the same laptop as Xan21. Note: Xan21, how did you get working ethernet and sound?
