Jultec
Hello there, I ordered the following notebook for 1000eur (1600eur for a 15" seriously lame macbookpro? Are you kidding me?) Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6 GHz Intel PM55 Mainboard 4096 MB RAM DDR3-1333 MHz ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 - 1024 MB gddr3 15,6 zoll, 1920x1080 glossy led display 500gb 7200rpm hdd Before I start thinking of learning to hack this thing, I need confirmation on the hardware! My concerns are the PM55 Motherboard and the Radeon 5650, they are not listed in the OSx86 database. Is there any probability a system like that will run Osx fine during the next year? Thanks for your help! Greetings, Julian edit: Seems like the PM55 is supported, but the Radeon 5650 needs the OSX 10.6.4 update that will arrive in june - is that correct? edit2: I want to replace that 500gb disk with a much faster SSD - possible? ThE_MarD
Heyyo, Hmm, don't hold your breath man, early reports from Netkas state otherwise... http://netkas.org/?cat=7 But time will tell. It should hopefully contain that stuff cause it's rumored new MacPro's might come with an ATi 5800 series graphics card. Jultec
thanks for your replies! a comment at netkas directs to this article: http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2010/...on-hd-5750.aspx One thing we can be sure about is that evergreen support will come at some point haha Well the resolution is a problem :/ First of all my display has native HD res and I bought the notebook for live vj performances.. I need the second output too. Heck, i need a third one too. lol I wonder if you can connect two additional displays at the VGA and HDMI ports..considering the card has eyefinity, this may work.
