For everything else I see no need to switch from Windows. Im sure ill go back to my pc soon enough but for now im loving my shinny new hackintosh. gwprod12 Posted July 12, 2006 Share Posted July 12, 2006 Currently, I'm ripping a DVD into mpeg4 files, downloading 3 torrents, with Yahoo messenger and AIM open. It's a little sluggish, but the ripper is probably taking most of the cpu cycles. Finding programs that do what I do on the PC is the hard part. Once I find those, I'm usually happy with them. dakine Posted July 12, 2006 Share Posted July 12, 2006 I mostly use OSX to surf the web with Safari and Camino, read emails, run azureus, and comb insanelymac to learn how to get my hack running great (mostly it is), however I don't have QE/CI so any video stuff, burning dvd from avi and mpg, watching video, etc. is done in windoze. The thing I want to do the most on OSX is listen to my large collection of music, but I've run into so many problems running Itunes, manely many of my MP3's won't play in Itunes (they do play in QT and other software) also Itunes dosen't support many of the audio formats that I have (ape, etc), so again I have to resort to Windoze for my music fix. I would like nothing better than to ditch M$ for good but i can't. Windows is only good for a game that isn't on OSX, nothing else. The only things that I miss are the games.. and the tv-out but my monitor is big enough for movies .... aaa, and some stuff for my skystar 2...
