plague
Guys, I'm about to buy 2 new laptops (one for my girlfriend) and I need to know what new laptops are OSX-ready so to speak... Im thinking about the ASUS M6A but also have a few custom-builds lined up (915 chipset, GMA 900 vc). I want it to run with minimal hassles, and dont want to have to find out later that what ive paid AUSD $5k+ doesnt work. SICK OF WINDOWS. Thanks in advance guys. Hagar
There are a number of laptops listed on the HCL http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL Also try searching this forum, or even just browse the "successes" Threads. I think you're unlikely to find any better information by posting here. Best of luck with it though, I would love a nice fast laptop running OSX myself.. plague
Guys, I have narrowed the Laptops down to ASUS M600A or V6000V. The difference between them is: M = 915GM Chipset / Intel GMA900 onboard video V = 915PM Chipset / ATI x600 Dedicated video According to the OSx86 Installation guide there is no support for anything but the GMA for over 1024 @ 60 hz. Id prefer to buy the Laptop with the better Video card. How far is ATI off being compatible with OSx86? Should I buy what is perfectly compatible now, and have it date quicker? Or go for the better one on the chance that it will become compatible in the next month or so?
