If there's a Microcenter near you, you might consider getting your Core i7 920 there – the one closest to me sells it for $179.99.

Also, though I'd also rather use an ATI card (and Cindori used a 4890) most people seem to have better success with NVIDIA cards. No reason you can't use the 4870 though. :D

Nah there are no Microcenter around me. Also I'm getting the Core i7 930 2.8 Ghz, rather than the 2.66 Ghz. As for video card, I find ATI to be better bang for the buck with great quality as well. Thanks for the suggestions :)

for $1875 you couldve built a way better machine. also shouldve shopped around online instead of buying everything from newegg, a lot of things are cheaper elsewhere and you can get free shipping.

I'm not sure that is fair to say. Newegg has good prices and in my experience, most of their items have free shipping. This is a very respectable build and $1,875 isn't that bad for a build that includes two SSDs!

Hmm, I did look around and didn't find any prices really cheaper than Newegg, besides some from unknown stores I never heard of. And even then it was a minimal 5 or 10 dollar difference, I'd rather trust newegg than some random website.

Really? Care to list what I could have done with 1875? The reason it bumped so high was because of the SSDs [they are pretty expensive]. Without them this is more like a 1500 PC.

Agreed. Not to mention you have a $200 Blu-ray drive in there. Without that and the SSDs, it would have been cheaper than most.

Should have gone with matching Vertex Turbos, the price difference between Agility and Turbo isn't that much (i just bought 2 vertex turbo 60gb for $189 each after rebate w/ no tax + free shipping from amazon, tiger direct) and besides the added speed, with matching ssds you could have put them in a RAID configuration down the road...

As for NewEgg, I've bought a total of 5 items from them... 4 were defective out of the box, and 1 was not as pictured/described - I still read the reviews but I'll never buy from them again
