MacOSX 10.6.3 released! Newest AppleHDA.kext v1.8.4fc3

 

DSDT + BIN PATCHED APPLEHDA

Attached is a text document with the DSDT HDEF section just copy and paste into your DSDT. Make sure you change 2x AZAL to HDEF.

Attached is also a binpatched AppleHDA.

Grey - Works

Black - Works

Orange - Works

Linein - Untested

Mic rear and Mic Front - Untested

Dig In and Out - Untested

I was tried thay but not working on my system. My motherboad is biostar 790gx 128mb with realtek ALC888. Are you have any suggest for me? Thanks

UPDATED DSDT to work with MacOSX 10.6.3, Also this is for Codec Address 2 of ALC888.

 

You have to go into windows and get your codec verbs from regedit, then if they are different then mine, you have to update my file.

 

My verbs are below:

to get audio working, You need your Codec verbs from windows if different from mine, DSDT patch, AppleHDA in /System/Library/Extensions and HDAEnabler in /Extra's folder.

Just wanted to let you know that this works with the Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L. By extension is should also work with the EP43-DS3L, EP45-UD3L and similar motherboards.

Hi, I have the same mothearboard as you, the kext works perfect but it takes maybe 30 seconds once the desktop show up in order for the sound to start working. Can you please post your legacy kext and your DSDT patch for the HDEF device?

WOW...What can I say....All works fine. Thanks for your great work.

 

Sound was the only problem after the 6.3 update.

 

Now everything works. Again Thanks.

 

 

* HTPC & Desktop both working fine

** If everything fails there is a bit pricy($30) solution : Griffin iMic ..(OSX recognize device right away).

Go into your windows and get your codec verbs and i edit the file and give to you.

 

Start > Regedit > Search for PinConfigOverRides

Save as TXT and then send to me, I'll change the AppleHDA to work with your card.

I updated to 10.6.3 and have an EP45-UD3L and am having problems. Do i just drag the AppleHDA.kext thats on the first post into my Extensions folder (or install using kext utility)?

I have a GA-P35-DS3L V:2.0 with ALC888-0. I did search for what you described but nothing be found too.

I did it in windows 7 Professional X64.

After some searching i managed to get it. However the closest thing i found was PinConfigOverrideVerbs which i managed to convert to this.

Reinstalled Realtek HD Codecs and it did not change anything.

Yep.. search for "PinConfigOverrideVerbs" or just "PinConfig" and you will find them. Some nice info on how to handle this stuff here.

 

@atlee.. i don't use or mess with AppleHDA stuff in a long time (been using VoodooHDA) so, i had to go dig on my AppleHDA chest.

First some remarks:

- the dsdt you posted works for you?? afaik that's not correct.

- no need for HDAEnabler when using this on DSDT! This does the injection, no need for another injector.

- it's not mandatory to install AppleHDA.kext into S/L/E. I'm testing this on Extra/Extensions.mkext, with dependencies there of course.

 

So, i didn't expected this kext to work for me (it doesn't). Though i also have ALC888 codec #2, our PinConfig's are a bit different; this is mine:

Now, i'm stuck at this point. I'd love to be able to fix this stuff by my self but it's pretty confusing to me. Tried a lot of times, but i still don't have the skills to do it and as the solutions available always gave at least Stereo out, i've been leaving this audio stuff for last. I also have a USB audio interface but, that's another pain in.. it works fine, i just can't use it all the time because of lack of space (atm).

So, can you patch the driver for my config? :)

No hurry on my side.. when you have time and will. Anyway, i understand if you "don't want to/can't" do it ;)

I'm currently working on a cleaner version of AppleHDA, I have tested HP, Green Lineout, Orange, Black, grey Lineouts all work 100% I cannot test Digital In/Out but i will test Mic/Mic front and LineIn In my new version verbs will change and also Pathmaps slightly so switch from HP to Green lineout can auto switch.

I am not opposed to installing Ozmosis on the EFI Partition, But Gigabyte locked the Bios loading .efi Files, there is no shell to Force it to load HFS+ or APFS drivers.   so what I am asking for is assistance ether unlocking a Shell for my Bios, or getting a bios with the APFS, HFS+, and Ozmosis related files in it.   thanks again for everyones assistance.
