alvin777
Hi. I've read somewhere, awhile back, that whenever you cold boot any electronics their parts degrade faster compared to if you switch it off after use. Has there been a scientific study on this? Is it better to leave, for example, an iMac i7 ON for 24/7 for months on end (with monitor off and sleep) or would an iMac i7 be prone to less damage if it's shut down after use? How much power does an iMac i7 use when it's in sleep mode with the monitor off? Thank you in advance. Gbu. Hi, any CPU degrade when it's powered, so when in sleep it still degrade a little, because it's still powered (but not as if it is full on and working). We need to know how long it takes to have a significative degradation...
