iDogma
Hello mates! I got performance issues after enabling speedstep (MacPro3,1 model). Temperature is about 38-40, but interface is working worse (effects like hiding or opening windows are not smooth), xbench quartz score is about 150-160, gl score - 86. video fired up using dsdt. any ideas why so low performance? p.s. without speedstep my video works perfect, smoothly and without any lags Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211573-q6600-speedstep-and-performance/ Share on other sites
pirloui
Maybe it's stuck at the lowest frequency, you can check with cpu-x. http://netkas.org/?p=72 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211573-q6600-speedstep-and-performance/#findComment-1417517 Share on other sites
bbeepp
...xbench quartz score is about 150-160, gl score - 86.... Seems like your graphic card is not working properly. On mine system Quartz score is 298 and OpenGl score is 160. iDogma
But without speedstep my quartz is about 220-230 points, opengl about 100-110. Much better, when without speedstep. Any ideas, why it is? Maybe it somehow connected with my low-power psu (500v, i heared this is a minimal bound for gtx260 and q6600). But on Windows i don't get any troubles, games and other stuff works fine. gatsu_1981
Mate! I got your very same issue when I was finally able to get speedstep working on my overclocked Q6600. And I resolved it! You should make your hands dirty inside DSDT however: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...&start=1330 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211573-q6600-speedstep-and-performance/#findComment-1431749 Share on other sites
