macuserava
So Ive been looking through this forum feed and have tried to get everything up and running but always get stuck at one part when either doing the leopard install or snow leopard install and that is video card. i dont know if im doing anything wrong or if somethings broken, but heres my specs and what ive done: xfx nforce 750i sli mobo xfx 8600gt 512mb 2gb ddr2 ram 200gb hdd e5200 2.5ghz dual core cpu i can always get it installed like the base install but then i install chameleon2 rc3 with pc efi boot file then throw the snow support files in the extra folder and the 32bit com.apple what ever file in there too. then run either efi studio or osx86 tools to import an efi sting for my card it always comes back on reboot with a black screen....whats wrong? mdnz01
Place NVInject in /System/Library/Extensions (make sure you repair permissions afterwards) and try again. http://www.kexts.com/view/17-nvinject_%2832--64-bit%29.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211191-almost-there/#findComment-1413447 Share on other sites
oldnapalm
You can also try with GraphicsEnabler, instead of EFI string put this in com.apple.Boot.plist <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211191-almost-there/#findComment-1413456 Share on other sites
macuserava
okay yeah ill try both of those suggestions, the graphics enabler will just let chameleon identify it right? and the nvinject do i put it there or is it also possible to put it in my extras folder either way i can do just checking? and thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211191-almost-there/#findComment-1413457 Share on other sites
mdnz01
Just dump the kext in the /S/L/E folder, I had the same issue as you many times and this always fixed it for me. (I have an Nvidia GTX 285) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211191-almost-there/#findComment-1413459 Share on other sites

motorhead9999
I would definitely try doing a fresh install and try just using efi studio's "patch com.apple.Boot.plist" button. I tried numerous tutorials online, and simply doing that got my nvidia card working fine. macuserava
Alright so i tried to put the nvinject kext in that location and repaired permissions and such but on reboot it found my card as graphics by nvidia and said it was 512mb memory but no qe/ci and artifacts came on the screen when i moved stuff and the mouse. then tried the graphicsenabler=y that did nothing, then tried efi strings once more time and im now back to the black screen. any suggestions? oldnapalm
Did you remove the injector kext before using GraphicsEnabler? Maybe your PciRoot is not 0? If it's the case you can use PC_EFI or latest Chameleon version with the option <key>PciRoot</key> <string>1</string> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211191-almost-there/#findComment-1414023 Share on other sites
