I have a HP LaserJet attached to a Hackintosh (AMD). I can print on this computer by using an old HP driver. The one that's delivered by Software Update doesn't work properly - a common problem btw. I can also print from another Hackintosh and from a real Mac. Since a few days I can't print with an other Hackintosh Installation (AMD). It did work before but from one day to the other it stopped working.

The print job goes faster through the network than before (when it was working). It is even listed in CUPS as a successful print but nothing comes out of the printer. It doesn't blink or hangs - it just doesn't print. All other jobs will be printed successfully - before and after.

I reinstalled the drivers by deleting library/printers but stil the same. I'm using the same drivers (apple update) on all clients and on the server I use an old one. But it anyway just uses the old driver when printing through the network.

Does anyone have a clue what this could be and what I could try to fix that?

Thanks for any hints!

good luck,

Thanks, I used this before. I switched back to the original because the printing quality is much better. The strange thing is anyway that the original driver worked until now and still works on other machines.

Hmmmmm... tough one. What router are you using for the network, is the Printer attached to the router or one of the computers in the network?

The printer is attached to a computer. I can print there and from another computer connected by ethernet. CUPS on the server tells me the print is completed.
