kaswistry
Hello Everyone! Yes, I am the guy with the Clevo M720sr laptop that's been trying to install MAC for over a week now. Anyway, I finally got to install a copy of it using iDeneb 10.5.5 through a fellow Filipino's suggestion. I also updated my unit using the iDeneb COmbo update to 10.5.8 Right now, I managed to install Audio to my unit using VoodooHDA.kext and the battery meter using VoodooPower.kext. However, my laptop sports other features which I cannot work out. That's why I'd like to ask for your help to install the following: 1) 7 in 1 Card Reader 2) Bison Webcamera. It's part of the laptop and I think I need some bisonkext or something. Mac does not detect it but YM does. I could use it with YM BUT there's a problem. The image is tooo zoomed-in. The too zoomed in function I know happens in Windows because the webcam was incorrectly installed (as per my experience). 3) Dedicated Buttons. My laptop comes with three dedicated buttons for Email/Web Browser/and Power Saver. When I press them, nothing happens. When I press the Power Saver, the motherboard goes into power saver mode (decreases hard disk efficiency and reduces power noise) but MAC does not detect this (and neither does it decrease the LCD brightness) I would also like to ask how to enable the following features: 1) USB mouse does not work after update 2) Is it possible to map the windows key as the command key or option key? 3) How do I change the resolution to 1208x800? 4) My display isn't sharp. It looks kinda blurred of some sort. I can't really explain but its not sharp and I wonder if this has something to do the fact that no KEXT is loaded for the display 5) Photobooth doesn't work! It says the graphic card isn't supported. Is it possible to bypass hardware check to make it work? THanks alot! TheDirTchamber
For the mapping of the keys, you can use DoubleCommand. For the dedicated buttons, it may be possible to make them work using Controller Mate. It worked for my Logitech G11 keyboard. About the USB problem, you could try "reinstalling" the usb related kexts (usbfamily and massstorage) from the installation dvd and fix permissions after. Seems to be working for other people. I don't know about the rest, but you should try installing 10.5.8 from scratch, not updating from older versions. I am also downloading the Controller Mate right now. The USB I'm also trying to reinstall although I have to search the DVD for the correct kexts. I cannot install iDeneb 10.5.8 for some reason, that's why I had to upgrade. How about the changing of the resolution? any suggestions? Thank you. kaswistry
Update: I got my USB mouse back. I reinstalled the drivers for USB from the original DVD drive. Now, I'm working on muhandis suggestion of adding my card reader's device id to the plist.info. I just have to figure out my device id first. Good thing I havent deleted windows yet. It seems my microphone doesnt work too. Any suggestions?
